SHADOW DOUBLES 2001

The film Shadow Doubles shows in succession three different women of different ages - Childhood, Womanhood and Old Age - moving slowly at various paces and various styles. Simultaneously, an accumulation of the same suits dress and undress each woman gradually, creating the shape of a dress – “ suit dresses ”.
The illustrated continuous performance of dressing and undressing does not so much represent the daily routine of getting dressed and undressed but the much longer process of collecting and discarding clothes through one's life. As a result the clothes drop extremely slowly, seemingly denying the law of gravity.
